Deviation Actions
Any of you who watch me may have noticed my inactivity lately. While I am not leaving dA (how could I, when joining this community was a turning point in my artistic development?), I am winding down.
I'd like to say that the stress of balancing work and house maintainance with family and social time doesn't leave me much room to relax; 12hr shifts, 6 days a week, pretty much leaves me just two hours to clean the house and remind my family that I am indeed still alive.
However, I do get a lot of time in work (depending on where I am working) to carry on with my fics. So that isn't really the excuse.
I no longer have a scanner, and without accompanying art to my fics (and new characters), I don't really want to post new chapters. However, I have used bases before and, if I truly wanted to, I could takes pictures on my phone and touch them up in MSpaint. I have done digital art long before I had a scanner. So that isn't really an excuse, either.
Unfortunately, it is a lack of passion for it. I have a long story to write for Raising Teagan, and I'd very much like to get comics drawn up to illustrate the origins of some of my characters. And the more I draw and write for Silver and Lorraine (as well as five other linked characters), the more I want them to have an original story outside of DC fan AU.
Added to that, I have been playing with two original stories of my own (a poetic short story, and a long webcomic), and with absolutely no starting point or preset boundaries, I am having trouble finding a setting; I know what characters I want in it, and roughly how I want their lives to be, but the story and aspects of it...they trouble me. Freedom is very restricting.
If you want proof that I am still alive, I go on tumblr very frequently (loppytaffy.tumblr.com). It is not a Teen Titans or DC blog in any way, shape, or form, nor is it a place where I upload my art. It is where I get involved with other franchises and am just an observing fan.
Aside from that, eventually I will continue Raising Teagan, I will not leave this story unwritten. Thank you for sticking around.

Lost
Hi guys; I didn't mean to leave for as long as I did, my life has made some huge turning points in the past few years and I honestly don't know where to begin. Firstly, I lost EVERYTHING; all my work was contained on a USB that got corrupted and wiped when i tried to copy it (ironically, to stop that from happening). I'm not talking just art, I'm talking all my ideas in the making, all my references and character notes, and personal things such as mortgage documents and family photos. Second, my job is still a huge block in making new fics or art (that and no scanner), that and I have adopted a 16yr old who takes up a lot of my free time, but he also has helped me take a turning point in how i create art, which brings me to the third point; I want to debut some new things, an entirely OC novel/comic that is in now way a fan work of anything. I have no promises on dates for anything, but I'm just letting you know that I no longer make fan art.
Quick update
Due to the tiring constraints of work (anything between 8 and 16 hours, usually night shifts), updating my fics has become difficult, being stuck in a writers block where I don't have internet (at work) to do research isn't very helpful.
Don't worry- it's not abandoned, at all. It's just going to take some time. Call it a hiatus?
I also, at present, do not have a scanner. The best I can do is take a picture on my phone and touch it up on MSpaint. I may do that just so I have something new for you guys, but until I get a scanner (with my next paycheck- with car insurance and MOT due, I can't really afford it right now) it's slow going.
It's, ALIVE!
As my new job requires me to sit in a room on my own for 12-15 hours doing bugger all, with little to no internet connection, you'll all be pleased to know you'll hear more from me, as I can use this time to draw and write (and am doing do).
Also I'm using an internet dongle, which took forever to get working (hense the title), I have 2GB to last me two months. Let us hope it lets me upload without taking too much data.
Just some things
I have in the works a new chapter of three of Raising Teagan, and some artwork. Plus some Hetalia art. And hopefully a short (5-10 chapter) prequel to Angels Might Fly.
I thought I'd do a life update, too;
I am due to go camping for Bugjam on the 20th, which is going to be cool.
I passed my driving test and have been tearing it between Crewe, Nantwich, Mansfield and Cardiff in my Ford KA (her name is Sahara. My Satnav is called Gloria).
I've been doing work experience at college, actually working with the zoo and helping to break in the new keepers, bless 'em. I LOVE IT!
